Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Kamil Jarkowski Software, tax ID (NIP) 9721346822, REGON 527115198, operator of the PawLife mobile app and the pawlife.pl website. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Account: e-mail address, name, password (stored only as a hash), app language and avatar.
- Your dogs: name, breed, sex, date of birth, weight, microchip number, photos, and the health record you keep: vaccinations, worming, medication, vet visits, procedures, allergies, blood tests and the files you attach to them.
- Walks: the GPS route, distance, duration and photos of walks you record.
- Location: the last known location of your device, used to deliver lost-dog alerts to people nearby; the positions of places, meetups, lost and found reports you create.
- Content you publish: posts, comments, stories, reviews, places, meetups, lost and found reports, including a contact phone number if you add one to a lost report.
- Technical data: push notification tokens, device platform, and server logs (IP address, time of request) kept for security.
Why we use it
Health information in PawLife concerns your dog, not you. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
- To provide the app and its features you choose to use (performance of the contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To send reminders, alerts and notifications you can switch off in settings (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and moderate reported content (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Who can see it
- People you share a dog with see that dog's profile and health record, according to the role you gave them.
- Friends-only posts, stories, places and meetups are visible to your friends; public content is visible to all app users.
- Anyone who scans your dog's QR code sees its name, photo, breed, sex and your name. The contact phone number is shown only while the dog is reported lost.
- Lost-dog reports are shown to users within 10 km of the place the dog was last seen.
Service providers
We use processors who handle data only on our instructions: Hetzner Online (servers and database, located in Germany), Cloudflare R2 (photos and attachments), Resend (sending sign-in and verification e-mails), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications). Maps in the app load tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your device's IP address. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Your account data and dogs: until you delete your account.
- Stories: 24 hours. In-app notifications: 90 days.
- Lost-dog reports expire after 14 days unless renewed; found-dog reports after 30 days.
- Server logs: 30 days.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export and delete your data, restrict or object to its processing. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account); your dogs, posts and uploaded files are deleted with it. To use any other right, write to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO).
